Rostra Accessories is pleased to announce the availability of an all-new wide-angle camera with best-in-class visibility and durability. Part number 250-8180 - available for immediate shipment - requires a discrete hole be drilled in any flat surface at the rear of the vehicle using the included 18mm holesaw after which the camera simply snaps securely into place. Parking grid lines are standard but can be deactivated by cutting a small loop cable on the camera’s harness.
Rostra Accessories utilizes industry-standard methods for testing camera compliance with FMVSS 111.

The camera must be installed correctly and in a location that allows it to clearly see the area required to meet FMVSS 111 standards in order for the vehicle to comply with that standard.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has mandated that new passenger cars, trucks, multipurpose passenger vehicles, buses, and low-speed vehicles rated at 10,000 pounds or less GVW include camera and display equipment to significantly reduce fatalities and injuries caused by backover crashes involving children, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and other pedestrians.
